Sonya Middleton

As senior vice president and general counsel, Sonya Middleton oversees all legal matters for the Residential and Commercial Business Units of Cox Communications, inclusive of Cox Mobile, Cox Media, Cox Communities, Cox Business, Hospitality Network, Blueprint RF and RapidScale brands. Her team provides legal counsel and support across all business operations, including marketing, sales, service, content and regulatory.

Prior to her appointment as senior vice president and general counsel, Sonya served as vice president of commercial operations for Cox Communications, providing counsel for complex transactions and leading a team that provided legal support for key business functions. She also held the position of assistant general counsel, serving supply chain.

Before joining Cox, she worked as in-house counsel with GE and Charter Behavioral Health Systems and served as an associate with Atlanta-based Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP (now Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton). She earned her law degree from Duke University and is a former Emory School of Law adjunct professor.
