Anthony Pope is the senior vice president and region manager for Cox’s Southeast Region, a combined Louisiana, Florida and Georgia system. Pope is responsible for leading 1,900 employees and the day-to-day operations of six markets: Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Acadiana, Gulf Coast/Florida, Central Florida and Middle Georgia.
A 20-year cable industry veteran, Anthony has extensive leadership experience in operations, sales and marketing, customer experience and employee development. His most recent role in telecommunications was Vice President and general manager with Charter Communications, overseeing North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Anthony has received numerous leadership and performance awards throughout his career, including being named one of Cablefax Magazine’s “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” for 2017 and 2018. He is a member of the 2018-2019 Class XVIII of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program and a graduate of the Council for a Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Alcorn State University.
As a leader of a large telecommunications operations, Anthony participates in numerous mentoring programs and advocates the importance of mentoring as part of successful employee/workforce development and community involvement.
Pope has two children: Ciera and Ryan, both graduates of the University of Alabama. He resides in Baton Rouge.
