Welcome to the Cox Communications Newsroom, where recent and archived announcements, leadership profiles and multimedia assets are available for your use.
For those unfamiliar with Cox, it is one of the largest broadband and entertainment companies in the U.S., providing advanced digital video, Internet, telephone and home security and automation services over our own nationwide IP network. Cox serves approximately 6 million residences and businesses. Cox Business is a facilities-based provider of voice, video and data solutions for commercial customers, and Cox Media is a full-service provider of national and local cable spot and new media advertising. Cox is known for its pioneering efforts in cable telephone and commercial services, industry-leading customer care and its outstanding workplaces.
The company recently led the industry by committing to deploy Gigabit Internet speeds to all residential customers and, in 2014, installed customers in Phoenix and Orange County, California, with more markets to come soon. Cox will bring Gigabit to all markets starting now with new developments and some existing neighborhoods in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Omaha, with a plan to be in all markets in 2016. The company also led the industry with the first primary and second screen guide to feature personal recommendations and a six tuner DVR, part of its Contour video package.
For several years, Cox has been recognized as the top operator for women by Women in Cable Telecommunications; Cox has ranked among DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity nine times, including the last eight years.
