COX CLAIMS PC MAGAZINE’S READERS’ CHOICE AWARD FOR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER
Cox beats every DSL provider in overall customer satisfaction
Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA – Cox Communications announced today that it received its fourth PC Magazine Readers' Choice Award for its Cox High Speed Internetsm service. The award is based on an online survey that included responses from more than 800 Cox High Speed Internet customers nationwide.

“It's an honor to have our customers recognize us with this award four times,” stated David Pugliese, vice president of product marketing for Cox. “We are especially proud that so many of our customers say they're likely to recommend Cox High Speed Internet to others.”

The PC Magazine survey asks readers to rate their Internet Service Provider in each of ten categories, including speed, reliability, customer service and technical support. Participants evaluated their ISP on a 1-10 scale of poor to excellent. Some highlights include:

  • Customers rated Cox overall as a 7.9, significantly above the cable industry average of 7.5 and DSL's average of 7.2.
  • Customers rated Cox's speeds at 8.1 on the ten-point scale, with the cable industry average at 7.7 and DSL at 6.9.
  • Cox customers also say they're more likely to recommend its service, giving Cox a score of 7.9, compared to 7.5 and 7.2 for cable and DSL providers, respectively.

“We've worked hard to make sure we're giving customers the speed and features they want, with enhancements like PowerBoost, integrated WebMail and the free Cox Security Suite,” stated Seth Hogan, Cox's vice president of data product management. “We'll continue to listen to our customers to ensure we're offering them the products and services they need to make their lives easier.”

Cox provides data services to more than 3.5 million residential customers and 187,000 business customers across the country. In addition to the PC Magazine honors, Cox's residential and commercial services have been recognized by J.D. Power and Associates in the past. In 2006, Cox Business(http://www.coxbusiness.com/products/data/businessinternet.html) received the highest honor for the Business Data Study for Small/Midsize Businesses, and in 2005, Cox received the highest ranking for Internet Service Provider Residential Customer Satisfaction.
