Cox Helps Stadiums, College Football Fans Prepare For Bowl Season
Five Bowl Stadiums Rely on Service from Cox; Fans Enjoy HD Broadcasts at Home
Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA – College football bowl season kicks off this week and Cox Communications plays a key role in helping fans catch every play. Cox Business provides video services to stadiums where eight of the big games will be played this year, including the contest that will crown this year's college football champion. Cox also delivers the on-the-field action to the living rooms and businesses of its video customers across the U.S.

When fans see sports or news shows on monitors as they enter the stadiums or get refreshments in Glendale, Ariz., Las Vegas, Nev., New Orleans, La., San Diego, Calif., or Tempe, Ariz., they will be watching Cox's channel lineup.

College alumni and local supporters will be able to enjoy all the bowls at home with Cox's video services, including the ability to create customized instant replays with Cox DVR. Twenty-eight of the bowl games will be broadcast in high definition and all will be available through Cox Digital Cable HD services.

“Cox is proud to be a part of bowl season, and college football's most exciting games. We offer a bundle of video, phone and Internet service to some of the best sports venues in the country, as well as the homes and businesses of our customers,” said Joe Rooney, chief marketing officer, Cox Communications. “Our high definition services will bring the excitement of these great games to millions of viewers this bowl season.”

This season, Cox has delivered hundreds of football games to its customers through a comprehensive sports channel line-up. Most of the games offered by Cox were available as part of a subscription to Cox's standard cable service. Cox Digital Cable HD customers enjoyed many of this year's most exciting games in high definition for an enhanced viewing experience.

Cox Business provides a full portfolio of voice, data and video services to more than 200,000 business customers in Cox markets across the U.S., including small businesses, multi-location enterprises, regional healthcare providers, local governments and large sports and entertainment facilities. Earlier this year, Cox became the first MSO to enter the top tier of U.S. business Ethernet providers, according to Vertical System Group. In 2006, Cox Business received the highest honor in the J.D. Power and Associates Business Data Study for Small/Midsize Businesses.
