CHICAGO - SUPERCOMM Tradeshow When Securities America began a major new construction and data center relocation project, the company chose to terminate its relationship with four incumbent telecommunications carriers and trust Cox Business as its single source provider for voice, data, Internet and video.

The decision was based on Cox Business’ service focus and its ability to design complex data transport solutions with additional points of redundancy to ensure business continuity for critical financial information.

“Securities America provides financial investment and advisor services through 1,900 independent professionals nationwide, all of whom depend on timely, accurate and reliable transmission of information,” said Doreen Griffith, chief information officer, Securities America. “A reliable network is absolutely critical to our operations and Cox Business has delivered on that promise.”

Securities America was transitioning from one headquarters location in Omaha to two new facilities and wanted to establish unprecedented levels of reliability as well as upgrade its connection to the company’s remote data center in Kansas City, Mo. The financial services leader also required advanced voice capabilities and digital television at its corporate headquarters.

“Cox Business’ dense network, combined with our in-market account teams, makes it a compelling alternative for businesses,” said Guy Cherp, vice president of Cox Business Omaha. “Whether we are serving small businesses or large enterprises such as Securities America, our commitment to delivering reliable service and an excellent customer experience remains the same.”

Cox Business’ comprehensive solution includes the following voice, data and video components:

·         Two fiber Ethernet data circuits from Securities America’s headquarters in Omaha to its Kansas City data center

·         Two fiber Ethernet data circuits between the company’s two Omaha facilities

·         Multiple PRI (primary rate interface) circuits for advanced voice calling capabilities

·         Digital video in reception areas, break rooms and executive offices

In addition to building redundant data circuits to each facility, Cox Business further ensured business continuity by utilizing redundant network nodes, dual building entrances and dual equipment vendors. Cox Business managed a multi-phase implementation over 10 months to correspond with key Securities America construction and operational milestones.

“With excellence in enterprise services like Ethernet and hosted IP, Cox continues to win more business from large verticals, such as financial institutions,” said Steve Hilton, vice president of enterprise and small and medium business research at Yankee Group. “The competitive products of multiple system cable operators escalate the value of customer service and reliability as differentiators among providers.”

Cox Business provides voice, data and video services for nearly 250,000 small and regional businesses, including healthcare providers, K-12 and higher education, financial institutions and federal, state and local government organizations. According to Vertical Systems Group, Cox Business is the fourth largest provider of business Ethernet services in the U.S. based on customer ports. Cox is the currently the seventh largest voice service provider in the U.S. and supports more than 650,000 business phone lines. For more information about Cox Business, Click Here or call 1-800-396-1609.
