ATLANTA, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications has been awarded the 2009 North American Broadband Customer Value Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan. The honor recognizes Cox for providing the most economical and secure packages for high-speed Internet customers.

"Given the current economic environment, many customers are price sensitive but still want the latest features, and Cox delivers both," stated Gina Villanueva, research analyst for Frost & Sullivan. "By providing its customers with feature-rich Internet packages at a low price, Cox Communications shows that it understands the effect the economy is having on customers."

The Award recognizes Cox for providing a variety of Internet options for customers, ranging from the Economy/Starter package, which provides a low-cost, simple solution to get customers online, to Ultimate Internet - Cox's DOCSIS 3.0®-based service which offers download speeds up to 50 Mbps. Ultimate Internet is currently offered in several Cox markets and is expected to be available to more than two-thirds of the Cox footprint by the end of 2010.

"We recognize customers have different needs from their Internet service provider. Some simply need an easy, affordable way to get online and others are looking for the fastest speeds and latest features," stated David Pugliese, senior vice president of product marketing for Cox. "We strive to meet those needs and provide all our customers excellent value - which is evidenced by this award."

The Frost & Sullivan Award is based on a number of criteria important to customers, including responsiveness to customer needs, enhanced quality and reliability of products and technological innovation and leadership. In recognizing Cox, the firm noted that not only do Cox customers have a wide variety of speeds to choose from; they also get access to value-added features such as the free Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee.
