Barbara Thwaites Named Executive Director of Customer Care Technologies for Cox Communications

ATLANTA – The appointment of Barbara Thwaites to Executive Director of Customer Care Technologies for Cox Communications Inc was announced today by Mark McGuire, Vice President of IT Solutions.

In her new role, Thwaites will oversee the technology strategies for Cox's customer care operations. She will work closely with corporate and local customer care teams to define and deliver solutions that will enhance the capabilities of Cox's customer service representatives to improve the service experiences of Cox customers

In making the announcement, McGuire said: “Barbara comes to us with a well-rounded perspective of the industry and understands the importance of customer care. She has a proven track record of developing and implementing successful technology solutions to support customer care and other telecom initiatives. Her experience in complex system integrations and knowledge of leading edge IT processes will be a valuable addition to our team.”

Prior to joining Cox, Thwaites served as a Solutions Director for Level 3 Communications. Previously, she served as an Engagement Director for Capgemini.

Thwaites earned a bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and an MBA from Georgetown University.
