Cox Communications, Inc. Announces Pricing of $1.0 Billion Debt Offering

ATLANTA, Sep 17, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cox Communications, Inc. (NYSE: COX) today announced it has agreed to sell $1.0 billion of 7 1/8% notes due 2012 for aggregate proceeds of approximately $992.6 million.

Cox intends to use proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding indebtedness and for general corporate purposes. J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and Salomon Smith Barney Inc. are the joint book-running managers of the offering.

These debt securities will be sold pursuant to Cox's shelf registration statements, which have been declared effective by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This news release does not constitute an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any debt securities of Cox.
