George Richter Named Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Cox Communciations

ATLANTA – The appointment of George Richter to Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Cox Communications Inc. was announced today by Mark Bowser, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

In his new role, Richter will oversee all supply chain activities including materials management, purchasing, warehouse and inventory-management and material requirement forecasting.

In making the announcement, Bowser said: “George has more than 15 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management with a proven-track record of successfully increasing profits and enhancing customer satisfaction. He will be a great addition to our team and will play a key role in continuing to position Cox as a marketplace leader.”

Prior to joining Cox, Richter spent more than 12 years with Arrow Electronics Inc., one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and value-added supply chain services. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Product and Supplier Management where he led the development effort for supplier management, customer forecast management and all aspects of purchasing as part of a global Oracle R12 implementation. Previously, he served as Arrow’s vice president of product management where he was responsible for $700 million in inventory, an annual spend in excess of $4 billion and leading a team in the planning, budgeting and forecasting for supply chain initiatives.

A native of Canada, Richter earned an MBA from Concordia University in Montreal.
