It is also available in: San Diego and Orange County, Calif.; Las Vegas; New Orleans; Omaha, Neb.; Oklahoma City; New England; Hampton Roads, Roanoke and Northern Virginia. Cox is planning additional market launches later this year.

Cox On DEMAND offers up to 1400 hours of entertainment including hit movies and free programming from some of cables most popular networks. In addition, Cox Cleveland will offer customers customized local content including past Hometown Highlights shows featuring news and events from the 10 cities Cox serves in the area. It will also include a weekly local high school football game – the Cox High School Football Game of the Week.

“We're pleased to deploy this exciting video service for our customers in Ohio,” said Kevin Haynes, vice president and general manager, Cox Communications Cleveland. “On DEMAND truly enhances our customers' television viewing experience by giving them more choice and control. And only Cox can provide customized local programming On DEMAND. By offering local high school football games, fans can watch the games at their convenience and rewind, fast forward and pause any plays, enabling them to create their own highlight show.”

On DEMAND provides a 24-hour viewing window for movie purchases, allowing customers to view movies instantly or watch them at a later time. Over 400 hours of free On DEMAND content is available via FreeZone, where customers can select from categories including Kids, Sports, Features, Local on Demand, Music and more. Customers can also subscribe to additional libraries of content for a monthly fee. Customers access the On DEMAND menu by tuning to channel 1 with their digital cable remote controls.

"On DEMAND gives us a strong competitive edge because it provides an enhanced video viewing experience to our digital cable customers," Haynes added. "In addition, On DEMAND features unique, local content for our customers that satellite providers simply don't have the technology to offer, making it even clearer why Cox is the best choice for communications and entertainment services in our markets.”
