Business Customers Fuel Cox’s Strong Third Quarter
Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA – November 6, 2006 – Cox Business Services, the commercial broadband and telecom division of Cox Communications, Inc., announced today it has grown its commercial customer base by nearly 28 percent over the same period a year ago, thanks largely to greater availability of telephone service to business customers.

“Through Cox Business Services, we have proven successful in using one network to deliver advanced communications services to entire communities: residential and commercial,” said John Dyer, chief financial officer of Cox Communications. “Time and time again, our customers tell us that the level of service – and reliability – that we provide cannot be found with any other provider. For these reasons, Cox Business Services remains on track to reach $1 billion in revenue in 2010.”

As the pioneer of cable telephony, Cox leads the industry in the commercial voice arena. In fact, in Cox's legacy voice markets, Cox's approach to bundling is paying off: 55 percent of new data customers also subscribe to Cox Digital Telephone. Cox's most recent commercial telephone launches include Las Vegas, Cleveland, Ohio, Middle Georgia, Central Florida, Gulf Coast, Fla. and Northwest Arkansas.

Supporting the growth also is Cox Business Internet broadband service and even faster Cox Optical Internet fiber service. As part of Cox's ongoing commitment to bring increasing value to its customers, in many markets Cox will increase its Cox Business Internet download speeds. In Omaha, for example, the speed increase will be automatic for all business customers at no extra cost. Other speed increases will be available in all Cox markets by early 2007.

Cox Business Services products and services include: dedicated data transmission up to OC-192 speeds over fiber, T-1 and ATM, as well as VPN; Internet access; local and long distance voice services; video services and music choice; web hosting and E-commerce; and carrier access services.
