Cox Promotes Marketing, Sales Chief Greatrex to Executive Vice President
Additional Leaders Lifted to Officer Positions

ATLANTA – July 14, 2015 – Cox announced today that it has promoted Mark Greatrex, chief marketing and sales officer, to executive vice president. This title is unprecedented related to the role in the company’s history and is indicative of the complexity and importance of data-driven marketing and sales strategy in the hyper competitive telecommunications marketplace.

Greatrex joined Cox in 2011 and immediately built new departments dedicated to consumer insights, marketing analytics, base management, retention strategy and segmentation – to better understand consumer expectations and more efficiently meet them. More recently, Greatrex led the transformation of the sales and marketing functions to build an even higher performing team. To enable stronger sales performance, he consolidated distributed sales and retention call centers into four large scale centers of excellence that are already driving the best customer growth in seven years.

With a background that includes more than 25 years leading national sales and marketing teams and elevating world-class brands, Greatrex previously served as senior vice president of global still beverages at The Coca Cola Company, executive vice president of brand marketing at America Online and in various brand and management roles at Unilever PLC.

Greatrex was honored this year with the cable industry’s distinguished Vanguard Award for Marketing and was recently elected chairman of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing.

Cox also announced additional mid-year officer promotions:

  • Johannes Eckert – senior vice president, IT and Network
  • Keith Crandall – vice president, Customer Care, Partner Performance
  • Michael Grover – vice president, Government Affairs
  • Carolyn Hergert – vice president, Internal Communications, Public Affairs
